The Clearest Laboratory Evidence Yet for the Quantum Nature of Gravity
In 2022, researchers at Stanford University observed a gravitational Aharonov-Bohm effect by using a one-kilogram tungsten mass to shift the wave phase of cold rubidium atoms. While this demonstrates that the gravitational potential leaves a real imprint on a quantum system, it does not prove that gravity itself is quantized.
