Italy’s 2025 deficit confirmed at 3.1% of GDP, breaching EU limit
Italy’s statistical institute Istat has verified that the 2025 public‑finance deficit will be 3.1% of GDP, keeping the country out of compliance with European Union fiscal rules. Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti expressed regret over the outcome.
